| Dir SW for proper academic ambience to G&B hostel inmates | | | Early Times Report
SRIANGAR, AUG 14: On the directions of Minister for Social Welfare, Miss Sakina Itoo, Director Social Welfare, Kashmir Mr. Hilal Ahmad Parray today visited Gujjar and Bakerwal Boys Hostel and Girls Hostel, Srinagar to assess their functioning.
The inmates of these hostels put-forth their demands regarding computer facilities, two sets of uniform in a year, construction of additional bathrooms and leveling of play-ground at boys hostel, construction of girls hostel and sponsoring tour to historical places of the country. The Director gave patient hearing and assured that their genuine demands would be taken up with the Minister for immediate action.
Secretary, Gujjar and Bakerwal Advisory Board, Mr. Inamul-haq Sadiqui informed that Rs 25,000are being provided annually for maintenance of hostel which is too meager and demanded its enhancement. He also informed that 5 kanals of land for construction of girls hostel at Bemina has been identified and will be acquired this year.
At Boys Hostel, the Director was informed that last year one inmate of the hostel topped MBBS Entrance in his category.
Parray urged the inmates to focus on quality education and achieve goal of all round development, excellence and competence.
He stressed upon the management of these hostels for looking after the students with love and caring attitude. He also directed them to provide the inmates proper academic and pedagogic ambience.
