| Over 1.20 lakh unemployed youth to get jobs within next two years | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 15- The National Conference led coalition Government in Jammu and Kashmir has decided to tackle the problem of unemployment on a war footing because it does not want the educated youth to get lured by antinational elements operating within the state. Official sources today said that a latest survey has revealed that there were over 1.20 lakh unemployed youth registered with the employment exchanges and there may be another 50,000 youths who were without any job. The sources said that it was for the first time in the history of the state that during the last seven months as many as 12000 youths had been provided employment in the state. The official sources said that over 41,000 vacancies had been referred to the recruiting agencies, including the subordinate service selection Board and the Public Service Commission. These recruiting agencies had been asked to expedite the selection of the candidates for the vacant posts. Sources said that within next three to five months another 10,000 posts were being created for ensuring speedy implementation of the development projects. They said that attempts were being made to provide employment to all the 1.20 lakh unemployed youth within next two years. Sources said that again it was for the first time that the salaries of doctors serving in far flung areas had been doubled. In addition to this ser vices of over 6,000 adhoc and contractual employees had been regularised and the daily wagers were to get enhanced wages from the current month.
