Excise employees protest enters 72nd day

JAMMU SEPT-28-The protest demonstration by the Jammu and Kashmir Excise and Commercial Tax class IV employees in support of its demand continued for the 72nd day today.
The agitating employees have been demanding their retention in the Department where they have been serving for more than eight years now.
The employees leaders have urged the government to come up with a policy decision as has been done in the case of similarly placed employees of the Agriculture Department to save them from starvation.
Those who addressed the agitating employees included Adil Rashid, Nazir Ahmed Bhat, Surinder Sharma, Anjum Wazir, Charanjeet, Abdul Rehman, Mohammed Abdullah, Ijaz Sheikh, Khem Raj and Ajay Kesari.
