| World Classic ‘An Inspector Calls’ features in Natrang’s Sunday Theatre | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 16-World classic ‘An Inspector Calls’ written by J.B. Priestley was presented here today in Hindi under the direction of Balwant Thakur at Natrang Studio Theatre in the weekly show ‘Sunday Theatre.
The play opens with a scene of great luxury wealthy Khanna family celebrating the engagement on their daughter Sheila to Kapoor. All is going well, suddenly there is a knock at the door, an Inspector calls. The inspector tells the group that there has recently been a suicide; by a girl name Manjari. He explains to the group how together it was of their doings that forced this girl to commit suicide.
This was perhaps the first world classic featured in Natrang’s Sunday Theatre and being a challenging actors’ production was beautifully played by them. All performed so well that it turned out to be an intense theatrical experience for the audience. Those who acted in the play included Manoj Bhatt ( Khanna) Renu Sharma ( Mrs Khanna) Gaurav Jamwal (Inspector) Tajasvi Sharma (Sheila) Mohit Sharma (Ashok) Rahul Singh ( Kapoor) and Anita Dhar (Maid).
