| MC Reasi ‘den of corruption’, 5 Councilors resign: Baldev Raj | | | Early Times Report
Katra, Aug 16- Baldev Raj Sharma senior BJP leader and MLA Reasi has alleged that Municipal Committee Reasi has become a den of corruption so much so five Councilors, who were fed up with the working of the Municipal Committee, have resigned from their posts.
He said these Councilors have leveled serious corruption charges against the functionaries of the Committee. The councilors alleged improper maintenance of public accounts, gross misappropriation of public funds, execution of works without tenders at very exorbitant rates, favoritism, nepotism in appointments without observing fair process of recruitment, non-adherence of financial discipline through budgetary approvals, poor quality of work, if at all executed, non persuasion of complaints against corrupt officials, undue favour in regularization of occupants of illegal khoka wallas.
The BJP leader demanded a thorough probe into the working of Municipal Committee and alleged misuse of funds.
