| JE’s put in lower grade, demand parity with Lecturers, Tehsildars | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 16 –The Engineers, who were inducted in the regular service in various streams of engineering after 2006, have in a meeting here today, criticized the indifferent attitude of the state government towards them. They alleged that the Government has put them in the lower grade while implementing the recommendations of the 6th pay commission.
They said that Junior Engineers who were enjoying the grade equivalent to that of Lecturers, Tehsildars, Veterinary Doctors in 80's have been degraded to a scale that is totally incommensurate with the duties as well as the academic qualification. The Pay of the Junior Engineers was reduced in the 4th and the 5th pay commissions and the current pay in the 6th pay commission has further been reduced to a level congruent to a helper. They further said that we had reminded the government a number of times for implementation of SL Bhat Committee report but regrettably the report seem to have been given not weight- age by the government.
The engineers also demanded removal of pay anomaly besides putting them in Pay Band 2.
