| Independence celebrations continue | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 16- Reports about celebrations of 63rd Independence Day across Jammu continue to pour in.
The Central Bureau of Investigation also celebrated the Independence Day with gaiety at its office Panama Chowk Jammu where SSP M.K Bhat unfurled the National flag and took salute from the contingent of CRPF. The staff and their family members graced the occasion. Prominent among were M.K Bhat, S.K Bhat, Radhey Shyam, Mohammed Rafiq, Ashok Kalra, R.C Dogra, Kamal Sangra, Jagdeep Singh, BD Dandia and BB Sharma.
Speaking on the occasion Bhat said that as elsewhere in the country, democracy has gained deep roots in Jammu and Kashmir. There can be no better dispensation than the one chosen by the people. Senior PP S.K Bhat, while speaking on the occasion, said that the country had traversed a long distance and attained an enviable position in the comity of nations and India is well on its way to being a major global player. He said that it was a matter for great satisfaction that the world looked towards India with hope and expectation, particularly as the country had taken a firm lead in providing some of the best brains to the modern world who had contributed significantly to global development.
Government High School Kundra Reasi organized an impressive function in the school premises in which Abdul Qadir Kundria, a prominent Dogri Poet and Writer was the Chief Guest and hoisted the National Flag. All the members and villagers of Dera Baba Banda Bahadur, Bhabber, Upper Pai, Lower Pai, Kundra participated in the Flag hoisting ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion Kundria appealed to the people to come forward to achieve their respective goals and become good citizens. He also honoured the meritorious students by presenting them mementos.
