Early Times Report
Banihal, Aug18- Expressing grave concern over scarcity of ration in Banihal, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today warned to launch agitation if authorities failed to streamline supply of ration in Banihal and adjoining localities.
A meeting of the PDP workers was held under the chairmanship of Abdul Ahad Wani, zonal president of the party. In the meeting speakers lambasted the State Government for its failure to ensure supply of adequate ration in Banihal and its outskirts.
Speaking on the occasion, Wani said that for the last six months residents of Banihal have been confronting with the shortage of ration. He regretted that matter was repeatedly brought to the notice of the authorities but of no avail. He said that most of the government run depots have been closed due to non availability of ration.
Wani also expressed concern over shifting of toll post and range office from Banihal and demanded that both the offices should be re-established at Banihal.
Former MLA Farooq Ahmed Mir, Imtiyaz Ahmed Khandey and other senior leaders also addressed the meeting.
