Academy organizes literary program for women writers

Srinagar, Aug 18- Four prominent women writers of Kashmiri language today interacted with intellectual community of Kashmir in a special literary program jointly organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Sahitya Akademi, (National Academy of Literature) New Delhi, here today.
Under the title “Asmita" a popular series of literary interactions, this was the first ever program in the valley in which the prominent women writers presented their latest literary compositions in the shape of Poetry and Prose.
Zaffar Iqbal Manhas, Secretary Academy, Renu Mohan Bhan Deputy Secretary, Sahitey Akademy and a galaxy of writers and intellectuals were present on the occasion.
The four writers include Bimla Riana, Prof. Naseem Shafai, Saba Shaheen and Dr. Mehfoza Jan read out their latest Poetic compositions and short stories in Kashmiri followed by detailed interactive session in which more than 20 top writers and intellectuals of the valley participated.
