| BJP activists protest against mal-functioning of NBCC | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 18- BJP activists of Ward No.1 led by their leader Karan Singh today held protest demonstration at Panjtirthi against malfunctioning of the NBCC in Jammu city and burnt its effigy. They were raising slogans against the working style of this agency. Karan Singh, while lambasting the state government for its total surrender before a private construction agency, the NBCC, for the reasons best known to it, said this agency has turned the whole of Jammu city into debris. Today a common citizen is exposed to grave danger while walking on these roads. The vehicles plying on these roads are getting damaged and also pose grave danger to the public traveling in these vehicle and pedestrians but who cares. No one knows what will happen. There are big cesspools of muddy water and people using these roads get soiled in spite of their best efforts to save themselves from it. Demanding a high level inquiry by a retired judge of High Court, Karan Singh said that the people have every right to know as to why the NBCC is not mindful of the hardship being faced by public of Jammu city..Karan Singh also took the Jammu-based Congress ministers and MLAs to task for their total silence over the high handedness of the NBCC. He asked them to clear as to why they are not taking up the matter in the cabinet meetings and make the government to tell NBCC in clear terms to repair the damaged roads on priority failing which it should impose penalty on it. A number of local party activists including Naresh Abrol, Shashi Sapolia, Kulbushan Vohra, Varinder Khajuria, Ajesh Sharma, Ajay Sharma, Ashok Kumar, Ramneek Singh, Raman Abrol, Parshotam Kumar, Sourab Sharma, Anshuman, Monu Badyal, Neeraj Sharma, Sunil Sharma (Ladu), Nikhal Sharma, Indresh Singh, Sunil Kumar, Sanjay Kumar, Narayan Sharma, Sunil Gupta, Aashish Sharma, Rohit Dogra and Joginder Singh, Vikas Verma took part in the protest demonstration.
