| Balwant Thakur elected to Finance Committee of SNA | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 19- Natrang Director Balwant Thakur has been elected to the Finance Committee of the National Academy of Music Dance and Drama, New Delhi. The elections were held yesterday at Delhi in the General Council Meeting of Sangeet Natak Akademi New Delhi.
As per the constitution of the National Academy two members from amongst the seventy member General council are elected to the Finance committee for a period five years and Balwant Thakur has the rarest honour for being one among the two representatives of the general council. The Finance Committee will be responsible for budget preparation and will have control over the finance management of the National Academy.
Balwant Thakur is the first person from Jammu & Kashmir who has been elected to this highest body. He had earlier served on the Executive Board of the National Academy for over five years. In addition to this he has been nominated to the Theatre and Grants committee of the Sangeet Natak Akademi.
