| Kishtwar face acute water shortage: Sidiqui | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KISHTWAR, Aug 19: Shakir Sidiqui a senior leader of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of distt Kishtwar, in a statement has expressed his dissatisfaction over the deteriorating water supply situation in Kishtwar, as people are suffering a lot on this account. He regretted that whenever NC government comes to power they do nothing substantial but just make hollow promises and befool the masses. He said former Chief Minister, Farooq Abdullah had signed an agreement with the General manager of NHPC Kistwar in Faridin Islamia Hr., Sc School were he told to the people that water would be pumped from Tunnel at Hasti. Sidiqui said this episode clearly indicated the seriousness of the NC government, beside present National Conference & Congress Coalition government is following the same foot mark and added. They succeeded in getting huge funds from the centre in the name of development but development seems nowhere. Sidiqui has urged Chief Minister Omar Abdhullah to keep his father word and ask to NHPC Dulhasti Authorities Kishtwar pass immediate order to pumps in Hasti so that age-old problem of water supply is resolved. Sidiqui also urged Minister for PHE Taj Mohi-ud-din to brief the CM in the regarding as matter is very important.
