35 houses gutted in fire

About 35 residential houses, two of them partially were gutted in devastating fire, in village Bungan-Marwah of tehsil Kishtwar yesterday. In the five properties worth several lakhs of rupees is reported have been reduced to ashes. However no loss of human live has been reported.
Various political leaders which include local MLA, Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo and senior PDP leader Shakir Siddiqui have expressed shock and grief over the incident and have demanded urgent relief to the suffers which include financial help for re-construction of burned houses.
MLA, Kitchloo has demanded that measures should be taken before the onset of winter season, as area is remote and hilly.
Reports reaching here say that Distt, Development commissioner along with MLA visited the village and distributed relief to the people, which include Rs. 10,000 per-family, free ration, 80 tents for temporary rehabilitation and 450 blankets.
