Unending patriotic lust can only help to regain lost glory
8/20/2009 10:21:04 PM

Khushwant.S.Ranial
It is a matter of great pride and joy that we are celebrating 62nd anniversary of our independence day with great fervour, gaiety and pomp and show. Is it an exaggeration of things or really should we kep on wit this yearly tradition to remind ourselves of the great sacrifices laid by our predecessors for our better future. Issue is quite debatable as well as controversial because different opinions will definitely pour in, in regard to this subject. But not withstanding with the harsh commens, I do feel that it would be more better for us to nurture and incalculate patriotism among our coming generation s through the field of education to carry India forward to repeatedly murmur and chant the favourite song holding initial couplet like “Jahan Dal Dal Par, Sone Ki Cjidiya, Karti Ho Basera, Who Bharat Desh Hai Mera, Who Bharat Desh Hai Mera, Jai Bharti, Jai Bharti”.
Undoubtedly, we have taken long strides and made rich accomplishments in te different spheres of life but mere resorting to complacency at this crucial juncture shall amount to loss in near future. We have just come out, as a nation, of the infantile state of our liberalism, democracy and darkness. Still lot is desired to be achieved for which the responsibility of scaling India to new greater heights lies upon the shoulders of ever living individual. Mere accusing our opponents, past rival groups on political doesnot serve the purpose. What is urgently sought is nothing short of an effective leadership in every walk of life. The need of he hour is to learn from past committed follies and stand up with strength in head and heart and resolve with commitment not to ask for benefits. Rather, necessity is to focus on lending one’s selfless contribution to one’s motherland. It need not to be a charity or donation but simplest measure with a small step to have a gaint leap in mind for much better future of our upcoming generations to make them claim with boast of our laid sacrifices and contributions. This all is possible only when an unending patriotic lust for better governance of the system is set on rolls. Our history of the world is replete with examples where countrymen of Japan, Russia, Israel, Korean, Germans and Vitenamesse stood like rock to face the onslaught of foreign aggressions and internal wrangling through sheer collective prusdence, able craftsman spirit and patriotic attitude. They made their adverfaries to lick the dust and bow on kneels. But here in south asian regions we India as well as Pakistanis have failed to over comes the lost scars of divided great India into India and Pakistan. Suspicious, hatred, ill-will, prejudiced malice still holds the weakened mind to ally fear of aggression upon one another.
On the home front, yet after 62 yrs. of Independence, power crisis, drought, famine, drinking water crisis, poverty, terrorism, naxalism, regional disparities, unemployment, are still core issues to be addressed but the root cause behind all such ills existing at present are mainly thanks to the unabated burgeoning over populated growth. Despite all such disconcerting odds, we have so far been sucessfuly able to pull the cart of democracy in a vibrant way by harmonizing our invaluable cultural heritage and traditional values with a blend of science and technology, art and a new life of liberal modernity with continual acceptance. One thing which have often been observed found missing is the iability of the legislatures to meaningfully deal wit their own officialdom business within legislature houses. Such an disorderly atmoshphere pollutes the area of governance, thus failing to redress the genuine worthy debatable issues leading a composite loss. Indian leadership requires another tryst with destiny to unleash individual potential and reap dividends.
In short, let we commit to ourselves that we have to render our best efforts for the national cause and economic upliftment. Since population has been found to be the root of al existing ills and prevailing circumstances, so let an endeavour be made to place a check upon its multiplication shedding all ritual dogmas and whims. Stringent legislative steps can’t put a check on population explosion nor surgical methodology can reduce the speedy growth. A motivational attempt can serve the purpose which if observed shall be truly no less than a true patriotism to overcome with many unwanted plethora of diseases. First, to check over population, let the age limit of marriages be raised by at least 05 years of both sexes with further motivational awareness to gain monetary benefits like additional increment packages to govt. as well as other private sector employees and other business related individuals and couples monetary incentives upto Rs 10,000/- pe year for at least first 2 1/2 years to 3 years. It is here pertinent to mention that Satara district in Maharashtra having a population around 28 lakh has a girl boy ration of 995:1,000 and since 2007, health officials of the district with an aid of Rs 6 crore from national rural health mission introduced volutanery approval by newly wedded to have safer sex for minimum two years, just to delay, birth to new baby in lieu of monetary incentive upto Rs 5000/- for first 2 years and Rs 7500/- who goes ahead to delay till 3 years. Since the fight against population cannot be won in India either by forcible sterilization means and nor by adopting chineese adherence to one childnorm, then only this is the way to deal with this menace. If we stick to this way, undoubtedly, nothing more sacrifice than this one shall be able to match the true spirit of patriotism…
