| Bureaucrats working against J&K’s interests, says Minister | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 20: The State Legislative Assembly was today pushed into guess work to find out the “top bureaucrats working against interests of Jammu and Kashmir” but the Minister who had the knowledge refused to divulge details. The issue under discussion was the one which has always remained at the heart of doubts and suspicions between State and Center –sharing of water resources and compensation to Jammu and Kashmir against losses it has been suffering on account of a ‘lopsided’ Indus Water Treaty. Alleging that some bureaucrats were working against the interests of Jammu and Kashmir, Public Health Engineering (PHE) Minister Taj Mohiuddin today sought cooperation of the Legislative Assembly to get full compensation against the Indus Water Treaty (IWT) signed by India and Pakistan. However, the members, cutting across the party lines said they will support any move of the government to get maximum benefit against the IWT. Taj informed the House that some bureaucrats were working against the interest of the state. However, members from treasury and opposition benches wanted to know the names of these bureaucrats and the action being taken against them by the government.
