| Army organizes medical-cum veterinary camp in Mendhar | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 21- Apart from guarding the borders and fighting insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir, the Army has been in the forefront to oversee the problems of the local populace, especially in the border belts of Jammu and Kashmir. As a part of its goodwill mission the Ace Spades Division organized a Veterinary-cum- medical camp for the local population at OP Hill Stadium in Mendhar today .The Camp aimed at reaching out to the vast population living in the far flung, interior and border areas of Mendhar Tehsil. During the day long Medical-and Veterinary Camp, Army and Civil doctors including Pediatrician, Orthopedican, Dentist, Gynecologist, Psychologist, Skin Specialist, ENT, Surgical and Medical Specialists attended to the sick and needy persons. More than 540 people who attended the camp were given free medicines. Special attention was given to pregnant mothers and new born babies. Veterinary doctors attended to 10 animals of different breeds. The local populace was educated on General Health, First Aid, Hygiene and Sanitation and basic Animal Husbandry and Milk production techniques. In addition, poultry chicks were made available for sale at subsidized rates. The efforts put in by the unit and Bhimber Gali Brigade was lauded by all sections of the society.
