| Petition seeks reframing of KAS results | | HC issues notice to PSC for filling objections | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 21- The Jammu and Kashmir High Court today issued notice to the State Public Service Commission with directions to file objections by next date of hearing. The notice was issued by Justice Hakim Imtiyaz Hussain in a writ petition filed by the petitioners seeking quashment of notification PSC/Exam/2009/21 of July 31, 2009 whereby PSC has fixed 208.8 marks as minimum cut of marks for appearing in the main examination. In the petition filed through Advocate CS Gupta the petitioners submitted that that in pursuant to the notification issued by the Public Service Commission dated December 30, 2008, the petitioners who were eligible appeared in the entrance examination conducted by the PSC. The petitioners belonging to ST, RBA Category had appeared against 40 and 80 posts out of 398 posts reserved for ST and RBA Category. Thirty nine thousand candidates had appeared in the examination. In the petition it has been alleged that result declared by the PSC is neither 1/3 of the total candidates nor 25% of the candidates who had appeared in the preliminary examination and thus is violation of Rule 8(2) of SRO 387 dated December 1, 2008. The petitioners seek quashment of SRO issued on July 31, 2009 with direction to respondent to reframe the result declared and include the names of the petitioners in the fresh notification. JNF
