| MAM College organizes awareness lecture on swine flu, blood donation | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 21: The NSS unit of Govt. MAM College organized an awareness lecture on Swine Flu-H1N1 and voluntary Blood Donation in the college campus here today. Dr. T.R. Raina, Head, department of blood transfusion GMC and SMGS, hospital gave informative lecture on the topic. Dr. Raina, an eminent microbiologist talked about voluntary blood donation and HIV AIDS. He said that every person should donate blood t least four times a year keeping in view his/ her state of health. He also educated the audience regarding the precautionary measures to mitigate the ill effects of HIV AIDS and Swine Flu H1N1. He also opined that an integrated system of health sciences is the need of hour. In his welcome address, Prof. (Dr.) M.S. Baloria, principal of the college stressed upon the need for organizing such like programmes in remote areas also so that the neglected lot can also be educated regarding precautionary measures to ensure better health. He appreciated the role of organizers of the college in making the programme a success. The lecture was attended by the faculty and students belonging to various wings like NSS, NCC, Red Cross of the college. The programme ended with a vote of thanks presented by Dr. Manohar Lal, staff secretary of the college.
