New Delhi, Aug 22: The Election Commission today decided to hold bye-election to a seat in Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council on September 15.
Mohammad Sharief Batt, elected to the Council from Doda district of Jammu by MLAs, has resigned the seat necessitating the bypoll, an official release said.
Notification for the poll would be issued on August 29. The counting of votes would take place on September 15 after the completion of the polling, it said.
