| Land Scandal in samba | | Court disagrees with CB closure report, orders reinvestigation of case | | Early Times Report Udhampur, Aug 22- Disagreeing with the closure report filed by the Crime Branch, after investigating the case for about four years, the Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu BL Bhat today directed re-investigation by a competent officer of the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police. After going through the case history, Special Judge observed, that it transpires from the records that complainant aggrieved of the conclusions drawn by the Investigating Agency filed a petition. The Court found that IGP Crime and Railway vide order dated January 24, 2007 had directed SSP Crime to withdraw the investigation of this case from Inspector GL Sharma and entrust the same to other officer. However, Inspector GL Sharma did not gave up and closed investigation as not proved and submitted the final report The Crime Branch on February 25, 2009 filed again the closure report indicating that the relevant record was missing. The Court further observed that no amount of reasoning much less the one assigned by the Investigating Officer can justify drawing of a curtain on the brazen abuse of official position by repositories of public confidence. The tendency of writing obituary note to a case like the instant one warrant only being deprecated and directed reinvestigation of case. Hari Chand resident of Palouta Tehsil Samba in his written complaint had alleged that accused Hans Raj son of Labu Ram and Tej Ram son of Durga Dass, both residents of Ramgarh Teshil Samba, hatched a criminal conspiracy with the revenue officials and managed to change the entries in Girdawari in their favour. The complainant was in cultivating possession of the land measuring 32 Kanals falling under different survey of village Palouta Tehsil Samba which was allotted to him by the Custodian Department. The investigation of the case was entrusted to Inspector GL Sharma who found that no case was made out against the accused and filed the closure report in the Court on October 11, 2007. JNF
