| JMC seize 50Kgs of polythene carry bag | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 22: Continuing drive against the use of polythene bags within the limits, the team headed by commissioner, municipal corporation, made surprise inspection in various localities failing under jurisdiction of the corporation. The team seized polythene bags from shops/ Reharies and other outlets at general bus stand, Satwari and Gangyal areas and about 50 Kg of polythene bags were seized. During the inspections 11 challans were filed and Rs 2500 was charged as fine from the defaulters for using the polythene carry bags. Earlier the field staff of headed by health officer, of the corporation visited various areas and destroyed about 35 Kg of pork found sold in open at Akhnoor road. Beside the team took 7 nos of samples of food articles like milk, mango drinks, bakery items etc. 22 Nos of challans were also filed against the defaulters for running their business without license as required under PFA Act 1954. Besides this, the team led by municipal veterinary officer visited the New Plot Janipur, Bantalab, Barnai, Muthi, Talab Tillo, Jewel, Panama Chowk, Railway Road, Greater Kailash etc, and impounded 15 stray animals and Rs 4350/- was charged as fine from the defaulters. The team also continued drive against the adulteration of milk and checked the milk at Maheshpura, Bakshi Nagar, Shiv Nagar, Roop Nagar, Janipur and Paloura areas. About 60 nos of milk canes were checked and 16 nos of milk canes were lifted from the possession of milk vendors. A fine of Rs 2500.00 was also realized from the erring milk vendors on spot.
