| Shastri urges CM address genuine demands of clerical staff | | | Early Times report Jammu, Aug 22: The president of the national mazdoor conference, Subash Shastri, has appealed to the chief minister, Omar Abdullah to intervene personally to re-address the genuine demands of the clerical staff and ensure that all the anomalies in the SRO-93 are removed so that all sections of the salaries class are benefited optimally from the implementation of 6th pay commission in the state. Addressing a press conference of NMC activists here today, he said the implementation of the report has developed a good rapport between the government and the employes and urged him to consider removal of anomalies in the SRO so to satisfy all sections of the salaried class. He demanded that the arrears on account of 6th pay commission implementation be released in two installments. Describing the current year as a year of working class since chief minister took historic decision such as release of 6% pending DA installment due from January this year enhancement of wages of daily wagers from Rs 70 to Rs 110 per day, implementation of 6th pay commission and several other measures, He said this year should be the year of daily wagers adding that their services should be regularized in one go. Shastri pleaded that all the allowances and perks which have been made available to the central government staff under the 6th pay commission report like 20% HRA, release of DA installment from January last, children education allowance, transport allowance, LTC and Bonus be also provided to the state government employees so that they could also be brought at par with their central counterparts. Shastri further appealed the 13th finance commission chairman, Dr. V.L. kelkar to provide a special financial assistant package to Jammu & Kashmir for fully funding expenditure for implementation of 6th pay commission recommendations in favour of state government employees & pensioners.
