| Army provides water to villagers in Nowshera sector | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 22 Carrying forward its initiatives for redressing hardships of border residents under Operation Sadhbhavna, the Army today dedicated a drinking water supply scheme to the village Choki Handan which is close to Line of Control in Nowshera of Rajouri district. Army spokesperson said people in Choki Handan used to cover long distances on foot to fetch potable water and the situation used to aggravate during summers due to drying up of natural water resources. He added the Nowshera brigade of army took up the responsibility of sloving this major problem of the area and constructed a water supply system in the underdeveloped village. General Officer Commanding, Rajouri based 25 ‘Ace of Spade’ division, Maj Gen R S Pradhan inaugurated the water supply scheme in the village and dedicated it to the local populace. Maj Gen Pradhan thanked the locals for their cooperation and assured them of continued assistance by the army in developmental projects. It needs to mention that Army had constructed several schools, roads and the Bal Ashram in the Nowshera Sector to enhance the general standards of living by undertaking numerous well conceived and efficiently executed projects under the aegis of popular Operation Sadbhavna to connect to the hearts of local populace.
