| JK Gujjars move Court against 8 Cellular Mobile Companies | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 23- The Gujjars, through Tribal Research and Cultural Foundation- a primer organization of tribes, have filed a suit in Consumer Court against eight leading cellular Mobile companies of India, providing services in Jammu and Kashmir. They have accused them of consumer fraud, false advertising and deceptive trade practices by "misrepresenting Gojri”, the third largest spoken languages of State in their package for costumer care in regional languages and providing poor quality services in Tribal areas. “Firstly, the ignorance of Gojri language by cellular Mobile service providers companies in costumer care compelled us for initiating a legal proceedings against them”, said Dr. Javaid Rahi, National Secretary of Tribal Foundation , secondly , the mobile services in tribal areas are almost defunct and this is our right to seek legal action in the matter as out of 32 lakh Mobile and Wireless connections in the State, one third of the total consumers are Gojri speaking, but they are being ignored in providing quality service and computerized answers in Gojri to in the State. Prior to this suit ,our organization has sent legal notice to all the eight cellular mobile companies asking them to provide quality service in Tribal areas and include Gojri in costumer care computerized service within 21 days enabling the tribal population of the State to listen the computerized announcements, answers against their quires in Gojri, but they had failed to do so , Dr. Rahi said. Now we have moved towards court for justice, he added. The lawsuit, filed by TRCF, further charges that all the eight service provider companies have failed to provide an error free service to costumers of Tribal areas and Border belts of Poonch ,Rajouri, Baramulla Kupwara. ‘We have also lodged a written complaint to Telecom Regulatory Authorities under Union Ministry of Telecom against Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL), Airtel, Aircel Vodafone, Reliance, Idea, Spice Communication, and TaTa Indicom as all companies have almost failed to provide quality service in Tribal areas and the matter is pending with the Ministry.
