| PDP accuses coalition for backstabbing youth on stipend issue | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 23- The main opposition party of the State - PDP today lambasted the Omar Abdullah led coalition Government on back stabbing the youth over the issue of stipend. In a youth meeting held here at Jammu today organized by Nadeem Khan which was presided K Sawhney party Spokesman, the youth PDP passed a resolution condemning the statement of the Government wherein the it denied that the Chief Minister had made any statement on the grant of stipend to the youth, and there was no move to give any stipend to the unemployed youth. The PDP spokesman said that the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had promised stipend to the unemployed youth and recruitment for middle pass in Police and alleged that the coalition government has failed to fulfill both these promises made to the youth. The youth had high hopes from the youthful Chief Minister but he too backstabbed them, Sawhney alleged. He said it was high time that youth understand the nefarious designs of the Government which is bent upon to promote corruption and nepotism in the state and fill their pockets on the name of providing jobs. Describing state Information Department as an agent of NC- Congress Private Limited Company, the PDP leader said the department is behaving like a private media manager and doling out money on the name of projecting and covering up the misdeeds of the Government like in the case of Employees agitation, Central University or Budget speech. He flayed the Information department’s functioning and demanded inquiry in the biased reporting and issuance of advertisements. Nadeem Khan who addressed the meeting took the government to task on the issue of step motherly treatment meted out to Jammu region in the case of development. He highlighted the worst conditions of roads, unscheduled power cuts .He said PDP youth wing will take the issue of stipend for unemployed to logical end, and will start a mass agitation on the issue.
