| Govt fails to control price hike of food stuffs, vegetables: CPI-M | | |

Jammu, Aug 23: The price hike of various food stuffs and vegetables in the state has been viewed seriously by the communist party of India (Marxist) at a meeting chaired by its general secretary Sham Prasad Kesar here today.
As per press release Kesar has said that both state and centre government have failed to control price hike, causing numerous hardship to people. He said prices of essential commodities of daily use have risen double during the last six months, like sugar is being sold Rs 32 a Kg, Dal Rs 90 per Kg, beside local vegetables in the market. He said tall claims of UPA govt in controlling the price hike and falling of inflation is totally false. He on the occasion asked both state and centre govt to provide Dal and Sugar at cheap rates through public distribution system (PDS) and also other items. He also demanded crackdown on hoarders and black marketers.
