| Location row: CU puts off its academic session | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 23: Not sure about its final location, the Central University of Jammu and Kashmir has come across its first academic blow as it cancelled the proposed its ‘token’ session of this year. While 14 of the 15 Central University simultaneously sanctioned for different parts of country are all set to roll out their first academic sessions from this year, the Central University of Jammu and Kashmir, pending infrastructure development, had decided to make a beginning with Master of Philosophy degree in three subjects by the current academic session. However, in view of brewing trouble on location of the upcoming prestigious varsity and the inability of state and central government in coming up clear on notification, the CU authorities have put off the M.Phill Degree supposed to begin with current academic session. Sources said that the decision primarily originated from complete lack of idea as how soon some basic infrastructure of the Central University can come up as the authorities were completely unaware of the location. When asked if there was any influence from the state government, a source in the Central University replied in negative and pointed out, “academic session of such a high level University can not be rolled out from a small rented house”.
