| Combined opposition stages walk out over poor supply of ration through PDS | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Aug 24- The combined might of the opposition parties on Monday cornered state government on the floor of the House over the issue of poor quality and less quantity of ration being supplied through public distribution system to the masses. During question hour on Monday members of the Peoples Democratic party, Bharatiya Janta party and Jammu and Kashmir Panthers party raised the issue of total failure of the consumer affairs and public distribution department (CAPD) to ensure better quality of ration supplies through its public distribution system. Legislators of all the opposition parties were seen pointing fingers towards the CAPD officials and the minister incharge while alleging complete failure on their part to ensure smooth supply of food grains through PDS to meet the skyrocketing demand. The legislators alleged that majority of shops which supply ration run out of supplies even before each card holder is able to procure his quota of monthly supply. The members alleged that if the state government had allocated sufficient quantity of food grains to be distributed through PDS then ration supplies should not fall short and all the card holders must get their sanctioned quota. Though the concerned minister made every possible effort to pacify the agitated legislators of the opposition parties but not satisfied with the written reply of the CAPD minister the members of the opposition parties staged a walk out from the House.
