| Airtel launches FWP services in Katra | | |
Jammu, Sept 29, 2006: Airtel, India's leading telecom services provider today launched 'Airtel Mega' Fixed Wireless Phone (FWP) services in holy town of Katra. Airtel Mega fulfills the customer needs for an innovative home phone service with the advantages of instant availability, feature-rich instruments and mobility within the premises. With this launch Katra becomes the fourth town where the services have been launched with the additional benefit of a unique after-sales service model.
While inaugurating the services in Katra, Mr Jugal Kishore, Minister for Rural Development & Panchayat appreciated the endevour of company to bringing in the latest in technology at the doorsteps of the common man. He said the launch of fixed wireless phone would boost the rural telephony scenario. Airtel Mega operates on GSM network. Airtel Mega will bring to customers a unique bouquet of value added services including Hello Tunes, SMS, Caller ID and all other services that Airtel has pioneered in the last few years.
Apart from a 24-hour customer care facility, any complaint from a customer will be addressed by the dedicated AIRTEL MEGA service team at the customer's premises. In today's situation, where customers are calling far more mobiles than fixed lines, Airtel offers its customers "Mega" value whereby calling to all local & intra-circle mobiles is given at Rs 1.20 for 3 minutes (effectively 40p/ min). Customers can choose from three European-styled phone models in both desktop and cordless versions.
