| Supply stopped on Minister’s directions | | HC orders restoration of ration supply to ration dealer | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 24- Jammu and Kashmir High Court, while keeping the communication of the Minister for Higher Education stopping supply of ration to the petitioner in abeyance, today directed the respondents to restore the supply to the petitioner Ration dealer. On the communication dated August 6, 2009 of the Minister concerned the supply to the ration dealer was stopped. Aggrieved by the decision, the petitioner Wali Mohammed, a ration dealer for Centre Dewal Mahore filed a petition in the High Court, which was disposed off by Justice Hakim Imtiyaz Hussain today. The petitioner in his petition filed through Advocate AM Malik alleged that petitioner was a political worker of present MLA Mahore Minister of Higher Education Abdul Gani who was a NC. Before last election petitioner joined PDP and openly supported the PDP candidate from Ghulab Garh constituency. This irked Abdul Gani who was also contesting election as NC candidate. After wining the election he became the cabinet minister and in order to harass and victimize the petitioner directed the official respondents to stop ration/ sugar to the petitioner. The official respondents as per the oral directions of the minister stopped ration/sugar supply to the petitioner from the last 9 months. The petitioner challenged the same and prayed before the court for issuance of direction to the official respondents to restore the supply of ration/sugar to the petitioner for fair price shop at Dewal Tehsil Mahore. Upon considering the case of the petitioner High Court directed the respondents to restore the supply to the petitioner. JNF
