| Azad`s brother likely to join politics; pledge to fight for Chenab Division | | | Jammu, Sep 28 : Brother of the Chief Minister, Ghulam Mustafa Batt is expected to jump into the active politics very soon. Professionally a forest contractor, Ghulam Mustafa Batt remained mixed among public throughout his life which is main reason behind his good public relation. After the new government, residents are reportedly finding it better to approach Mustafa than Azad in order to get their problem redressed. As Ghulam Nabi Azad is not accessible to all the inhabitants of his native area people have found a novel way to convey their grievance to the chief minister. A long queue of Doda residents has become a daily affair outside the house of Mustafa. He reportedly meets hundreds of people in a day at his private residence in Gujjar Nagar locality. Interestingly there is no other man except Mustafa Batt in the family of Azad who has interest in the politics or who have political footing among the public and. If Azad moves back to the central politics, it is likely that his brother replaces him in Bhaderwah constituency, family sources told News Agency of Kashmir. Though Mustafa supports Azad because of his brother yet he has not formally joined any party. He may jump into the politics very soon as he has launched people to people contacts in his native area Bhallessa under the umbrella of a non governmental and non political organization namely Bhallessa-Bonjwah Development Committee in the capacity of its Chief Patron, said the sources. In an interview with News Agency of Kashmir, Ghulam Mustafa Batt hinted to join active politics in near future. He said “I have a dream to develop my area and people are also supporting me”. When asked about his agenda, if joined politics, he said, “I will fight for constitution of Chenab Division, Creation of Chenab Parliamentary Constituency and Opening of Chenab University in the area besides fulfillment of other local demands of the people”. Highlighting the need of University, he said the literacy rate of the area could only go up when government will open a full fledged University in the area. “I desire to see Chenab University in the area and I will fight to fulfill this demand”, he added. When asked about his participation in the next election, he said “If people want, I am ready to jump into the political arena”. |
