| J&K to have two swine Flu test labs soon | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Aug 24 : Jammu and Kashmir government will set up two swine flu testing laboratories in Jammu and Srinagar cities soon. "To counter the spread of the disease and undertake detection and medication at a faster speed, two swine flu testing laboratories would be set up in Jammu and Kashmir soon," State Health Minister Sham Lal Sharma said here today.
One laboratory will be established at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIM), Srinagar, and the other at Microbiology Lab, Jammu, he said.
Colonel Chopra Nursing Home at Government Medical College, Jammu, has been closed for routine patients and reserved for H1N1 patients, in case the influenza takes epidemic form.
Appealing the people not to pay heed to the rumours, he said the state is fully prepared to combat the disease as sufficient stock of drugs and other equipments is available.
As many as 15 cases of swine flu have been detected in the state.
