| Skating Club seeks improved infrastructure | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 24: Roller Athlete Skating Club Jindrah today pleaded before the Government for improved infrastructure in place of existing meager playing facility at MA Stadium, here. Skaters were speaking to the mediapersons, here this afternoon. Highlighting the declining graph of medals at the national and international level, the Club wanted the Minister for Sports, R S Chib to personally intervene and look into the causes of down wards trend of the game. It was also alleged by the Club that senior skaters were being sandwiched between the two skating bodies, one is recognized by Roller Skating Federation of India and other affiliated with the State Sports Council. “We the skaters of J&K request the Sports Minister and the State Sports Council to intervene between the two associations and put an end to the long pending dispute so that the beautiful sport can be saved,” president of Roller Athlete Skating Club Jindrah, Arya Vir Singh Jamwal said. He further said, “Because of the prevailing dispute the players suffer financially as they have to spend from pocket to meet the to and fro expenses incurred on participation in the national level competitions.” Among those who spoke included Ankush Kohli (senior vice-president), Atul Sharma (joint secretary), Gagan Singh Jamwal (publicity secretary), Sanjeev Gupta (treasurer) and Paramveer Singh Bhatia.
