| NSF accuses centre of discriminating against Sikhs | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 25- National Sikh Front has accused central government of discriminating Sikhs on the name of minorities. Addressing media persons here today, Chairman of the Front Varinder Jeet Singh said that Central Government on the basis of minorities is giving Rs.5 lakhs to Rs 10 lakhss to Muslim women to set up their own industrial units free of costs but on the other hand is discriminating Sikhs. ‘In India if any one is minority that is Sikhs who are only 2 percent in population and it is unfortunate we have been ignored”, he said and adding, ‘We are not against any kind of help given to Muslim women, they should provide the same help to the Sukh women’ Singh said. He informed that they already wrote to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, Minorities Affairs Minister Salman Khursheed, HRD Minister Kapil Sibbal, and Chairman Minority Commission Mohammad Shafi Qureshi in this regard. He said a delegation led by Kulwant Singh Bhatti, President NSF is visiting Delhi to meet Union Ministers and the oppositions leaders to pressurize them for giving financial support to the Sikh women for setting up their own units. ‘If the Government, still does not agree with us then once again we will go in for an agitation’, Singh stated.
