| Rehri Union activists threaten ‘self immolation’ | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 25- Union of “Panthers Rehri Union” today served 7-days ultimatum to the Jammu Development Authority for redressal of grievances failing which they would resort to other means even ‘ self immolation’ for which the entire responsibility will lie of the JDA. The Union leaders said that following development of Nallah at Trikuta Nagar the authorities had assured allotting the space to Rehri Union. It is very strange that the site has been allotted to Taxi Union and the Rehri Union has been left at the mercy of God. They were forcibly evacuated on August 16, 2009 by the Taxi Union, they alleged. The Union in a handout said that Manoj Gupta Young Panthers leader along with Rehri Union President Raj Kumar had pleaded the case before the Vice Chairman JDA who firstly promised that site will be soon allotted to the Union but surprisingly in a communication dated August 21, the VC intimated that there is no provision of allotment of this site to Rehri Union.
