Jammu, Aug 25: While continuing the drive against adulteration of milk the team led by municipal veterinary officer visited the areas of Bikram Chowk, Jewel, Trikuta Nagar, Satyam Road, Digiana, Gangyal and Satwari and checked 48 milk canes. As per a handout, Out of 48 cannes, 16 cannes of milk canes were lifted from the possession of milk vendors and sent to laboratory to check the quality of milk. A fine of Rs. 2550.00 was also realized from the erring milk vendors on spot. Earlier the team lifted four stray animals from Janipur, Bahu fort areas and impounded them to municipal cattle pond. Eight impounded stray animal were released and Rs. 1340 were charged from the owner of these stray animals, the handout added.
