| DD cameras return to assembly | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Aug 26: After being disallowed to enter the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly yesterday, the cameramen of the Doordarshan Kendra (DDK), Srinagar, were back in the house today. ''I have allowed the cameramen to enter the House today after the DDK Director met me yesterday and assured that proper coverage of the House proceedings would be telecasted,'' speaker Mohammad Akbar Lone informed the House before taking up question hour. He however added we asked the cameramen to withdraw from the house yesterday as despite repeated directions from the chair, the DDK failed to give adequate coverage to the House proceedings. The House was getting complaints from members from both treasury and opposition benches about inadequate coverage by the DDK, the Speaker of the assembly said adding the decision to ask DDK cameramen to leave the House was welcomed by the members. However, he said, yesterday DDK Director met him and assured him that from today onwards proper coverage will be given to house proceedings. He said we allowed the cameramen today on the condition that we will see the coverage before taking decision about tomorrow. He said the director has assured that House proceedings would be telecasted from 1930 hrs to 2000 hrs daily. However, members from both sides said that DDK should telecast proceedings of 60-minute question hour |
