Mendhar, Aug 27- Hundreds of people today staged protest against the authorities alleging black marketing of cooking gas in the tehsil and adjoining villages.
The protesters marched through the streets and staged protest in Yadgar chowk to register their grievance before the authorities.
“We have been continuously bringing the issue into the notice of higher authorities but nothing has been done so far”, alleged President Mazdoor Union Mendhar Abdul Majid.
He said that people are being either charged hefty amount for the cylinders or have to buy the same in black.
“Most of the supply of domestic gas is supplied to the commercial units like hotels shops and vehicle owners”, alleges Mushtaq Fani adding where the poor consumer will go if same will continue.
The protesters submitted a memorandum to the authorities demanding streamlining of the gas distribution in the area so that a common man can feel respite from black marketing.
