| Court awards two months RI, Rs 1000 fine in eve-teasing case | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 27- In a first case of eve teasing Court today awarded rigorous imprisonment and fine to the accused facing trial for the last five years. Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu YP Bourney, after hearing Chief Prosecuting Officer Pawan Khajuria with Prosecuting Officer Kuldeep Bhat appearing for the State and Advocate Asha Koul appearing for the accused Dinesh Kumar, awarded two months rigorous imprisonment u/s 294 RPC (eve-teasing) and fine Rs 1000. In default of payment of fine accused shall have to further undergo RI for one month. According to the case on November 29, 2004, complaint was lodged with the police station Pir Mitha Jammu alleging that accused Dinesh Kumar had been teasing, defaming, chasing and passing obscene remarks in filthy language to the daughter of the complainant and thus made her life virtually hell. On this information case was registered u/s 294 RPC and investigation was conducted and after completion of the investigation challan was presented in the Court of law on December 3, 2004. JNF
