Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 27- All India Confederation of SC/ST Organization today held a rally outside Press Club in protest against government move to ban inter-district recruitment.
Raising slogans against the state government, protesters alleged unconstitutional recommendations of the select committee to ban inter-district recruitment, violation in promotions by not providing seniority as per roster prescribed for the purpose and non implementation of Mandal Commission report.
Speaking on the occasion, president R K Kalsotra expressed his astonishment at the immature decision of cabinet to constitute select committee over inter-district recruitment headed by AR Rather and much more bewilderment at the recommendations made by it.
Kalsotra alleged that Finance Minister and chairman of sub committee AR Rather has tried to create boundary walls in the state on district level which goes on to prove his political agenda to divide the state on lowest possible levels.
He also came down heavily on the incumbent government for not considering the senior most Superintending Engineers belonging to the SC category in PWD (R&B) and ST in PDD and said that Government’s move to compartmentalize the state into narrow limits and denying the promotions to SC and ST communities.
The confederation expressed its anguish over 50% curtailment of reservation in direct recruitment for the post of Assistant Director Statistics and violation of roster point seniority by every DPC and non implementation of reservation in Banks and all other PSUs. The Confederation also took the government to task for not implementing the Mandal Commission report.
The Confederation appealed to the CM to intervene into the matter immediately and not to bring such law into force.
Kalsotra appealed to the members of the assembly not to support the government in the passage of bill banning the inter-districts recruitment will table.
