| SUKAST organizes training program for farmers | | | Early Times Report Kathua , Aug 27- Scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kathua which is working under the overall guidance of Dr. K.S. Rissam Director of Extension Education SKUAST-Jammu organized farmer’s training on “Infertility management /Health care in animals ” at village Uttari Barwal here today. The program was attended by more than 45 farmers. Dr. Amrish Vaid, Program Coordinator, KVK, Kathua extended warm welcome to the participants and scientists of faculty of Veterinary Sciences of R.S.Pura SKUAST-Jammu. Dr. Rajendra Kumar Bhardwaj- Scientist (Clinical Medicines) gave a detailed account of ecto and endo parasites of animals and also gave prescription for various diseases in animals like mastitis, worms in rumen of cattle, poisoning of udder, Foot and Mouth disease and also advised farmers to adopt proper sanitation and hygienic condition. Dr. Sanjay Aggarwal- Scientist (Animal reproduction and Gyane) narrated various causes of infertility in animals and remedial measures thereof. Dr. Ankur Rastogi Scientist (Animal Nutrition) described about various mineral mixtures available in market and stressed on balanced nutrition of animals for higher milk production and also suggested the farmers for preparation of local feed. Queries raised on crop production and protection were satisfactorily answered by scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendra
