| ICAI felicitates newly appointed Income Tax Commissioner | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 28: The recently appointed Commissioner Income Tax J&K circle B L Razdan, has emphasized on building cordial relations between the fraternity of chartered accountants and officers in the income tax department. He has also stressed upon creating healthy environs, building confidence and mutual trust between the income tax assesses and the officers in the income tax department. As per a release, B.L. Razdan who was speaking at a felicitation function organized in his honour, by the J&K Branch of Northen India Reginal Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, here today appreciated the rool of the institute of CAs in extending fullest cooperation to the income tax department and functioning as trust builders between the income tax department and income tax payees. He asked the worthy chartered accountants to create awareness and enlighten the tax payees about their responsibilities, to contribute honestly in the nation building and government endeavor towards economic development along with discharging tis social responsibilities towards the weaker section of the society, in keeping with the concept of welfare state. Earlier CA Hardeep Agarwal, Chairman, J&K Braanch of NIRC, in his address highlighted that Razdan has the rare distinction of heading the Income Tax Department in the state twice. He had headed the Department in the early nineties ad the Deputy comm9ssioner of Income Tax. Overall this is his third stint in the state as he has also served here in the year 1985-86 as the Income Tax Officer. He has superb investigative skills as well as is well versed in legal and administrative fields as he has worked in every branch and wing of the Income Tax Department. The Chairman of J&K Branch of NIRC CA Hardeep Aggarwal further said that his posting as the Commissioner of Income Tax, Jammu & Kashmir is significant in more than one way. He is the son of the soil and has been posted to head the Income Tax Department in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. Earlier in the day a seminar was also held on the topic of LIMITED LIABILITY PARTNERSHIP AND NEW DIRECT TAX CODE in which guest speakers were Central Council Member CA Charanjot Singh Nanda and CA Gourav Garg from Delhi. The proceedings were conducted by CA Lalit Kumar Gupta, Secretary of the J&K Branch of NIRC of ICAI and vote of thanks was proposed by CA R.K. Gupta the released added.
