| HC stays appointment of 12 JEs | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 29- In a petition filed by a handicapped candidate challenging the selection of 12 handicapped candidates as JE (Electrical) Justice Hakim Imtiyaz Hussain of J&K High Court Jammu Wing today issued notice to state of J&K through Chief Secretary, Commissioner /Secretary PDD, Chairman SSRB for filling objections and in the meantime ordered that the appointment of the 12 private respondents shall remain in abeyance. This direction was passed in a petition filed by one Yash Pal belonging to handicapped category. The petitioner submitted that after completing Diploma in electrical engineering he had applied for the post of Junior Engineer Electrical Grade-II, in response to the advertisement notice issued on November 19, 2007 whereby the respondent had advertised 343 posts of Junior Engineers Electrical. The respondents issued select list on June 23, 2009 by which the respondents have selected private respondents 7 to 18 for the post of JE Electrical Grade-II under handicapped category and ignored the petitioner who is more meritorious than 12 private respondents. During the course of arguments Advocate Surinder Kour, appearing for the petitioner, submitted that the petitioner has more points than the cut off point and was ignored and hence challenged the selection of 12 private respondents under handicapped category.
