| Court rejects bail application of accused involved in Hawala racket | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 29- Rejecting the bail application of Mohammed Asrar-ul-Haq from whose possession police had recovered rupees three lakhs as Hawala money and other documents, Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu YP Bourney said that the allegations are well founded and well substantiated as such the bail application does not merit any consideration. The accused arrested by the police and involved in unlawful activities had affiliations with the HM militant outfit, who used him to provide Hawala money to the militant cadres to carry out unlawful activities in the state. During the arrest police had recovered Rs three lakhs Hawala money, one mobile phone, three SIMs, five identity cards, 10 visiting cards and other items from his possession. The CJM, after hearing CPO Pawan Khajuria with PO Kuldeep Bhat and counsel for the accused, observed that the police report and CD file reveals that the applicant is involved in heinous and non-bailable offences which not only carry imprisonment up to life but also poses serious threat to the innocent citizens, besides threatening the sovereignty of the state. The allegations are well founded and well substantiated. The applicant given a chance would in all probability make every effort and hit the witnesses through his mentors. It is not in the larger public interest to grant bail to the persons accused of the offences of abetting and aiding the militants as is in the present case. Therefore, the bail application does not deserve to be given the concession of bail and is accordingly dismissed, the Court ordered. The accused was arrested on August 2, 2009 and during interrogation by SP Operations the accused is confessed to have revealed that he was affiliated with the HM militant outfit and was carrying Hawala money for the militant cadres to carry on unlawful activities in the state. The sustained interrogation of the accused led to the disclosure that he had received the money as per the telephonic directions of one Shah Din Divisional Commander of the banned militant Organization HM from unknown person and it was to be delivered to a worker of HM outfit namely Muneer Shiekh. Further investigation in the case is in progress and efforts are afoot to arrest other accused. The accused has been handed over to JIC Jammu for further sustained interrogation. JNF
