| Notification issued for LC bye-polls | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, AUG 29: Secretary J&K Legislative Assembly, Mr. Mohammad Ramzan who is Returning Officer for bye-election to the Legislative Council of J&K by the members of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly today notified that an election is to be held of one member from amongst the persons who are residents of the Doda district of Jammu province and are not members of Legislative Assembly. The forms of nomination paper may be obtained at the offices of the Secretary J&K Legislative Assembly or Deputy Secretary J&K Legislative Assembly between the hours of 11 a.m. to 3 p.m from August 29, 2009 to September 4, 2009.
It is further notified that nomination papers may be delivered between the hours of 11 A.M in the morning and 3 P.M in the afternoon by a candidate or his authorized agent to any of the officers Secretary J&K Legislative Assembly or Deputy Secretary J&K Legislative Assembly at his office on any day not later than September 4, 2009. The nomination paper will be taken up for scrutiny at 1100 hours on September 5, 2009 at legislative Assembly Secretariat, Srinagar. The notice of withdrawal of candidature may be delivered by a candidate, his authorized agent or election agent to any one of the officers specified at his office before 3 p.m on September 7, 2009.
It was further notified that nomination papers and notices of withdrawal may be delivered to Secretary J&K Legislative Assembly who is Returning Officer at Assembly Secretariat, Srinagar Deputy Secretary J&K Legislative Assembly (Assistant Returning Officer).
It is also notified that in the event of election being contested, the poll will take place on September 15, 2009 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
