| Chib inspects ongoing works at Dental College, GMC | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, AUGUST 30 - Minister for Medical Education . R. S. Chib has expressed concern over the lingering dispute over 5 kanals of land adjacent to Indira Gandhi Government Dental College, Jammu and directed Deputy Commissioner, Jammu to immediately call a meeting of College and JAKFED authorities to sort out the matter so that expansion plan of the college can be carried forward. The Minister said this during his visit to the college here today where he took stock of the various ongoing works in the college premises He directed the concerned agencies to expedite the construction works ensuring that all the technical norms are strictly adhered and the hospital is well equipped to cater to the needs of the people. While reviewing the ongoing work of girl’s hostel of the college, the Minister directed the Chief Engineer, PHE to ensure water supply in the complex within next 15 days. He also went around the administrative block, academic block, and library and inspected the facilities being provided there. Mr. Chib asked JKPCC to submit a plan proposal for developing a two-tier parking lot in the college premises within next 10 days.Mr. Chib also visited the Government Medical College, Jammu and interacted with patients undergoing treatment there. He directed the authorities to ensure that the patients are provided proper care and better hygienic conditions. He called upon the medical fraternity to work with utmost dedication and missionary zeal to serve the masses and said that government is committed to provide best medical facilities to the people. Observing heavy presence of attendants of patients in the wards, the Minister asked the concerned authorities to provide facilities like proper seating arrangements in waiting halls for the attendants so as to prevent rush in the wards posing problems for the staff in carrying out their duties. He said that additional funds will be provided for the purpose. Meanwhile, Mr. Chib also met Bapu Asaram Ji at his ashram at Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu and participated in the satsang. Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, . M. K. Dwivedi, Principal, Government Medical College, Jammu, Dr. Rajinder Singh, Chief Engineer, PHE, Jammu, . V. K. Abrol, Managing Director, JKPCC, Nayeem Ahmad, Administrator and Superintendents of Indira Gandhi Dental College, Jammu and GMC were accompanying the Minister.
