| Rs. 19.56 Cr spent till date on General Zorawar Singh Auditorium | | | Early Times Report

Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Mr. R.S. Chib, on behalf of Minister for Higher Education, in reply to question of Mr. Ajay Kumar Sadhotra informed the Legislative Council that General Zorawar Singh Auditorium and not the stadium has been constructed in Jammu University Campus. He said that the initial estimated cost of the Auditorium was Rs. 14.09 crore which was later revised to Rs. 22.13 crore adding that the expenditure till date is Rs. 19.56 crore
The Minister said that the then Vice Chancellor of Jammu University accorded AA for initial and revised cost based on the recommendation made by the auditorium implementation and monitoring committee. He said the matter was also placed before University syndicate at its meeting held on 08-09-2008. The Vice Chancellor on the recommendation of the committee approved by the University Council is the competent authority for accord of AA, he added.
