Jammu, Aug 31: Jammu Kashmir nationalist movement an amalgam of various KP socio-political organizations held a meeting of the prominent intellectuals of the community at Jammu which was chaired by Dr. KN Pandita convener JKNM. The deliberations were on the topic “Essence of consensus on the issues of political empowerment under present developing scenario”. As per the release, the intellectuals during the function expressed their views points on the essence of three resolutions of JKNM include Kashmiri Hindu temples and shrines management bill, establishment of autonomous welfare board comprising of elected members from the community and political empowerment guaranteeing representation in legislature, parliament and constitutional institutions along with simplification of electoral process with updation of electoral rolls. The intellectuals were unanimous in their view points for establishment of an institutional mechanism and unity/coherence of the community on covergent issues in the shape of common minimum program to shun and divisive approach. They also expressed has KPs being politically and economically deprived minority need to launch a struggle for minority status also. Spearheading the discussions, the prominent and renowned intellectuals expressed concern on the overall situation and apathy of the Govt. towards KPs on all fronts and extended full support to the ongoing struggle by the community for enhance of cash relief, employment package equal to the number of KP employees retired since 1990 and one time stipend to averaged unemployed educated youth, the release added.
