JAMMU, SEP 1: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) organized an orientation meeting of bankers for micro finance for rural masses especially for rural women. The programme was inaugurated by Chief General Manager M. L Sukhdeve and members from Reserve Bank of India, State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Jammu and Kashmir Bank participated in the programme.
Sukhdeve appreciated bankers for opening no frill accounts and providing general credit cards to rural and semi urban branches of the banks. To increase the financial access of rural poor to bank, Financial Inclusion Fund and Financial Inclusion Technology Fund with a corpus of Rs 500 crores each have been established with NABARD, he added.
