| Karra expresses solidarity with SRTC employees | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Sept 2- Expressing solidarity with the employees of the State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC), senior PDP leader Tariq Hameed Karra has condemned Tuesday’s police action against the striking employees and their families.
In a statement, Karra said instead using force against the SRTC employees and their families, the Government should consider their genuine and justified demands. He said the government must see why the police in one region was allowed to use ruthless force against the employees while in the other region the protest marches by SRTC employees were allowed peacefully.
Urging the Government to release the salary of the SRTC employees withheld for the last four month, Karra said the Government should take a considerate view of the SRTC employee’s demands and release their salary dues without any further delay. “The Government must understand the plight of the employees and in view of the holy month of Ramadan and upcoming auspicious days, the salary dues of the SRTC employees should be released without any further delay,” he said.
Karra said the Government should also take a final decision regarding the fate of the Corporation as delaying any decision is adding to the mounting losses of the Corporation.
